History: Cyberpunk FashionSource of version: 14__Cyberpunk fashion__ is a term that can be used to refer to fashion scenes and subcultures influenced by the concepts of cyberpunk, i.e., cyber and Industrial fashion.
The fashion presented in The Matrix can be classed as cyberpunk, and has arguably gone on to influence the concept of cyberpunk itself. Examples being trench coats, sunglasses, boots, goggles, plus black, monochrome and occasionally neon materials. Popular hair styles can include woven dreadlocks, shaven heads, and unnaturally dyed hair colors (red, blue, green, etc.). These hair styles are popular with both males and females. Cyber fashion resembles a combination of industrial, rave, punk and Gothic fashion. Some common themes include a contrast of black or white combined with luminous neon or UV-reactive colours and materials, brightly coloured and often stylised hair (e.g., with hair extensions or braids using artificial materials, often with an undercut shave), large shoes or boots (typical brands including New Rock, Swear, and Transmuter), various forms of body modification, the presence of superfluous goggles (especially Aviator sunglasses), androgyny and the influence of cyberpunk or anime themes. {img src=show_image.php?name=anime_legwarmers2_mid.jpg } (example of 2007 cyberpunk fashion) !!External links *[http://www.cyberdog.net/|__Cyberdog, Cyber fashion store__] *[http://www.cybergoth.co.uk/|__CyberGoth store__] *[http://www.futurstate.com/article.cfm|__FutureState, Cyber clothing store__] *[http://www.hairfreax.co.uk/index.php|__Hair Freax, for hair-extensions and wiggs__] *[http://www.plastikwrap.com/|__Plastik Wrap, Cyber Clothing store__] *[http://cybergothimplants.batcave.net/|__Cyber Gothic Implants, fake fashion implants__] Original page/base data taken from Wikipedia.org, further add-ons, made by volunteers of [http://www.cyberpunkreview.com|CyberPunkReview] History |
